Voith’s Carbon4Tool prepreg is supplied as pre-impregnated UD tapes stacked and designed as a two-tile skin system, one for the surface and one for the backing, each tile being impregnated with a low temperature curing epoxy resin, according to the company.
“[Voith’s] Carbon4Tool material is a new 4.0 generation of tooling material that offers fantastic draping and contour performances despite its thicker design, which typically results in a time saving of up to 70% in the production of tooling forms and of up to 20% material waste reduction,” said Jean Carol, business unit manager at Gazechim.
