Automotive prepreg available outside Europe

Solvay has launched a new carbon fiber prepreg suitable for automotive components to coun-tries outside Europe.

SolvaLite 714 is made of unidirectional carbon fiber and woven fabric pre-impregnated with epoxy resin. According to the company, the material has fast cure cycles and a long outlife. It can be used to make automotive parts such as body panels in serial production due to its short compression molding cycle times.

"Our new SolvaLite 714 Prepregs have been specially developed to ensure strong product robustness in large-scale industrial compression molding processes and deliver high structural part performance," said Greg Kelly, product manager.
