Solvay has developed Vac-Ply VMS3, a multi-layer microporous vacuum channel for resin infusion.
The channel has been designed to maximize air removal during resin infusion processes, thus improving impregnation and avoiding dry spots. It is suitable for the infusion of large structures such as boat hulls or wind turbine blades, where maintaining vacuum over long distances is important.
Vac-Ply VMS3 reportedly has reduced witness mark on the laminate surface, improved linear adhesive bond line, thinner overall construction and has been designed for serial production to meet global demand.
