Presentations at the Product Demonstration Area in Hall 8a at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre, 7-9 October, will include composites technologies for the automotive industry, automated cutting of parts, and manufacturing of fire retardant components using a silicone bag injection process. A.S.SET (Adjustable Simple Thermoset), a material for manufacturing high-load thermoset composites, will also be on display.

Companies present at this year’s Product Demonstration Area include the Euro-RTM-Group, 3D Core, RH Schneidtechnik, Henkel, BÜFA Composites and TU Dresden. An additional exhibition area in Hall 8a will supplement the Product Demonstration Area. Displays will include:

  • a composite monocoque;
  • the Tauro V8 Spider sports car, which is built using high-performance acrylic resins and structural adhesives from Scott Bader;
  • Stükertec profiles consisting of a thermoplastic matrix reinforced with continuous fibres with controlled fibre orientation; and
  • the Scigrip solar boat, the winner of the Dong Energy Solar Challenge 2014.

The exhibitors at the Product Demonstration Area expo will be Scott Bader, TU Dresden, Evonik, Scigrip Europe and Stükerjürgen Aerospace.

New area 'Industry meets Science'

A new area at the show, 'Industry meets Science,' is organised by the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) at RWTH Aachen University and its partner institutes. The focus here will be on the latest developments in process engineering and quality assurance.

COMPOSITES EUROPE 2014 takes place in Düsseldorf on 7-9 October. Around 400 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors are expected.

COMPOSITES EUROPE is organised by Reed Exhibitions in cooperation with the European industry association EuCIA, the German Federation for Reinforced Plastics AVK, the VDMA Forum Composite Technology and Reinforced Plastics magazine. This year it will be held concurrently with the ALUMINIUM World Trade Fair.
