COMPOSITES Forum
The COMPOSITES Forum offers a lecture programme organised by the VDMA Forum Composite Technology and its member companies, the Institute of Plastics Processing at RWTH Aachen (IKV), and other exhibitors.
As COMPOSITES EUROPE's official media partner Reinforced Plastics is pleased to be able to offer our readers free entrance tickets to the trade show. Get your special registration code here. |
One of the programme’s focal points will be production technology. VDMA member companies such as KraussMaffei, Keilmann Sonder-maschinenbau, Dassault Systèmes and Dieffenbacher will discuss automation, preform production, economic manufacturing of thermoplastic structural components and connection technologies, amongst other topics.
RWTH Aachen – with the IKV and other partner organisations such as the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and the Institute for Automotive Engineering (ika) – will also present new approaches to production technologies, focusing on topics such as 3D fibre spraying, hybrid composite metal components, and laser-based joining and cutting of composites.
In addition, exhibitors such as Chromaflo, Scott Bader, Evonik and Teufelberger will present an overview of their technologies – from materials to developments in colouring composites, to testing methods for lightweight wood and plastic-based materials.
Admission to the Forum in Hall 8b is free of charge for visitors.
International AVK Conference
The annual conference organised by German reinforced plastics association AVK will once again kick-off COMPOSITES EUROPE. On 6-7 October, international experts will discuss advances in production methods, as well as recycling and standardisation.
International market developments and trends in glass fibre reinforced plastics (GRP) and carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) will also be presented.
CADFEM Workshop
The simulation software ANSYS® Composite PrepPost will be presented by CADFEM at this year’s COMPOSITES EUROPE. Visitors will be able to learn about its benefits at a CADFEM technical workshop at 1-5 pm on 8 October.
Please go to www.cadfem.de/composites-simulation to register for the workshop.
Special Areas: Product Demonstration Area and 'Industry meets Science'
Visitors can experience production processes, new materials and applications live at the two special areas at COMPOSITES EUROPE – the Product Demonstration Area, and the new 'Industry meets Science' area created in collaboration with the IKV Aachen. Current developments and highlights from the areas of process engineering, design and quality control will be featured.
COMPOSITES EUROPE 2014 takes place on 7-9 October in Düsseldorf. The trade fair is organised by Reed Exhibitions in cooperation with the European composites industry association EuCIA, as well as AVK, the VDMA Forum Composite Technology and Reinforced Plastics magazine. This year, COMPOSITES EUROPE will be held concurrently with the ALUMINIUM trade fair.
