Around 1300 exhibitors from more than 50 countries will present materials, key technologies and applications for the major lightweight construction markets at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre during COMPOSITES EUROPE 2012 and ALUMINIUM 2012.

At COMPOSITES EUROPE, about 400 exhibitors will include raw materials producers, processors and technology providers. The 2012 show starts out with new records in exhibitor numbers (+10%) and exhibition area (+20%).

Leading companies such as Huntsman, Johns Manville, KrausMaffei, Lange+Ritter, Dieffenbacher, Weiss Chemie and Cam Elyaf will take part again, while BASF, Polytec EMC and Mikado Smart Engineering join COMPOSITES EUROPE for the first time.

Spotlight on automation and mass production

Key topics at this year’s exhibition are automation and the mass production of composites, as well as carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP). Carbon fibre producers SGL Carbon, Toho Tenax, Mitsubishi Rayon, Toray and Zoltek will be present, together with the competence networks CFK Valley Stade and Carbon Composites eV (CCeV).

The COMPOSITES EUROPE supporting programme includes the International AVK Conference, Composites Forum, and Product Demonstration Area.

International AVK Conference

With more than 350 participants expected, the International Conference of the AVK (Industrievereinigung faserverstärkte Kunststoffe eV), the German association for fibre reinforced plastics, will again preceed the trade fair on 8-9 October. At the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf, conference topics will include the GRP and CFRP market, recent developments in mass production, solutions for joining and bonding, and repairs and simulation.

VDMA Forum Composite Technology

In 2012, the VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau eV)'s Forum Composite Technology will support COMPOSITES EUROPE. The VDMA will contribute presentations to the Composites Forum which accompanies the exhibition.

The Product Demonstration Area

The Product Demonstration Area is organised in cooperation with the Institute of Plastics Processing (Institut für Kunststoffverarbeitung – IKV) at RWTH Aachen university and the AVK and offers visitors demonstrations of products, production processes and testing procedures.

Recruiting Area

In the Recruiting Area, organised in cooperation with Kaiser Stähler Rekrutierungsberatung GmbH, companies can meet with students, graduates and job seekers.

COMPOSITES EUROPE is organised by Reed Exhibitions in cooperation with the European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA), the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA), Reinforced Plastics magazine and AVK.

350 exhibitors and more than 7000 visitors took place at COMPOSITES EUROPE 2011 in Stuttgart.
