Dura Composites has developed an online tool to help manufacturers design a step-over access structure made of glass reinforced plastic.
The d2 GRP Access Structures Configurator is suitable for applications in a range of industrial, rail and construction environments, the company says.
According to Dura, manufacturers can specify safe access structures to navigate obstacles such as pipework, plant equipment, bund walling, or changes in level more easily, by inputting the dimensions of the obstacle to be crossed. The tool also reportedly provides instant transparency of cost.
All d2 GRP Access Structures are designed in conjunction with relevant standards for commercial and industrial use as an alternative to metal or wooden structures.
‘We want to educate people about the versatility and performance of composites in real-world scenarios, and by making them easy to specify purchase through tools such as our new access structure configurator, we can achieve our ambition to make composites mainstream,’ said Stuart Burns, MD.
