Carbon fiber has high compressive strength

Toray Industries has developed new carbon fiber material with higher tensile strength and tensile modulus.

The company plans to expand the new TORAYCA MX range in its lineup going forward and introduce prepreg using the MX series carbon fiber.

According to Toray, the fiber tensile strength of carbon fibers often has a trade-off relationship with its tensile modulus. If both higher tensile strength and tensile modulus in carbon fibers can be realized, an equivalent performance of materials can be made even when the amount of carbon fiber is reduced.
