Turkish composites show held in June

The first KOMPOIST show was held in 2007; in 2008 the event moved to Istanbul Exhibition Center and attracted 55 exhibiting companies. The decision was then taken to hold the event every two years.

According to the event organiser, Sentez, the composites industry is fairly new in Turkey and the main objectives of the show are to show the public what composites are and where composite products can be used, to create consumer awareness and to increase production.

KOMPOIST ’10 coincides with the celebration of Istanbul as 2010 European Capital of the Culture.

  • Turkey is an emerging economy with a growing composites market. The country also has easy access to the Middle East and CIS countries. Resin producers DSM Composites Resins and Ashland Performance Materials both recently announced plans to expand their businesses in Turkey.
