IDI Composites International acquires Jet Moulding Compounds

IDI Composites, headquartered in Noblesville, Indiana, is a formulator and manufacturer of thermoset moulding compounds for custom moulders and OEMs. The company provides customised polyester and vinyl ester based bulk moulding compounds (BMC), sheet moulding compounds (SMC), and continuous impregnated compounds (CIC) for the automotive / truck, aerospace, electrical, food service, alternate energy, and appliance markets.

According to IDI Composites, this acquisition makes it the largest supplier of high performance thermoset moulding compounds in the world. The acquisition also greatly enhances the company's manufacturing output and increases its global customer base.

"We are aggressively expanding our presence in the high performance products market," notes IDI Vice President & General Manager Tom Flood. "This acquisition will speed that process, and will enhance our growing global customer base.”

Jet Moulding Compounds will continue to operate as an independent entity of IDI Holdings Inc through 2011 in Ajax, Ontario. IDI will begin working with Jet Moulding Compounds immediately on a managed consolidation into its Noblesville, Indiana, manufacturing facility.
