Taking 3D printing to the next level

Inkbit develops and commercializes a new generation of additive manufacturing systems, capable of real-time feedback control and voxel-level error correction by machine vision. Inkbit’s core technology, Vision-Controlled Jetting (VCJ), was developed at MIT by converging advanced computational techniques with a scalable hardware architecture and high-performance materials. Headquartered in Medford, MA, Inkbit has built the first 3D printer powered by machine vision and artificial intelligence in order to meet the speed, precision and reliability requirements of industrial production. The proprietary vision system at the heart of Inkbit’s technology scans every layer after deposition, generates its three-dimensional topographic map, and enables the printer to correct inaccuracies in real-time and learn from its mistakes. Most importantly, the contactless nature of VCJ, which eliminates the need for mechanical flattening of each layer, enables printing with high-performance photopolymers that are not acrylate-based, the current standard. We just launched our first commercial machine, Inkbit Vista, which is now available for pre-order.
