Wind turbines supplied to Canada

Siemens Gamesa has signed an order with Renewable Energy Systems (RES) in Canada to supply 20 turbines to a wind farm in Alberta in Canada.

Siemens Gamesa will reportedly supply 20 SG 5.0-145 turbines to the 100-MW Hilda wind plant.

The turbines feature 71m blades made of glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin and pultruded carbon technology which the company says can help improve energy production and reduce noise emission.

The company already has wind turbine installations of almost 3,000 MW installed across Canada and signed contracts that will increase to more than 4,000 MW by the end of 2023. The country aims to meet its 30% goal of renewable energy generation by 2030.
