Rock West expands space product range

Rock West Composites (RWC) has expanded its range of composite composites suitable for space applications.

According to the company, it already produces fiber reinforced tubes for lower earth orbit (LEO) applications, and now offers plates, sandwich panels, and solar array substrates both for those applications and geosynchronous equatorial orbit (GEO) and deep space use.

RWC says that its Strato line has low outgassing, low to zero coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), high modulus materials, and a wide operational temperature range.

“Our goal is to make space quality hardware readily available in a cost effective and efficient manner,” said Jeremy Senne, head of RWC’s space market business.
