Scott Bader says that it has supplied its ATH filled Crestapol 1212 resin to make the interior panels of a 190 m2 steel framed gold egg structure as part of a dining room in a Dubai hotel.

According to the company, the moulded and CNC machined glass fiber panels are rated to EN 13501-1 ‘Euroclass’ B, s2 and d0 and have170 phr by weight of Alumina trihydrate (ATH) fire retardant filler. They make up both the glass fiber cladding and interior lattice panels of the egg. Both the steel frame and the glass fiber parts had to be produced in sections with suitable mechanical fixture points.

The company says that its Crestabond M1-05 and M1-20 primer-less structural adhesives were also used which provided the specific working and fixture times needed.
