Composite tools at engineering show

CompoTech will be exhibiting its composite machining tools at the Advanced Engineering show, taking place from 2–3 November, in Birmingham, UK.

This includes a newly designed heavy parts handling industrial robot arm manipulator, which the company says has stronger integrated loop technology (ILT) joint bushings that connect the carbon fiber composite wound tubular arm sections.

Also on show is a carbon composite-metal hybrid milling disc tool, which can reportedly improve machining time by 78%.

CompoTech’s head of business development, Dr Humphrey Carter, will present on day two of the show about the options for carbon composites in machine tools and industrial applications.
