VELOX says that its dedicated commercial and technical support service combined with Umicore’s accelerators product range will enhance the scope of both parties’ offerings.
VELOX will incorporate the Umicore’s proven product range VALIREX into its product portfolio. This will enable VELOX to meet its customers’ requirements better and offer a larger and comprehensive product range for the composites industry. The cooperation will also include the new brand ECOS ND15.
Umicore’s Ecos ND15 offers customers the ability to deal with the potential hazard classification of cobalt carboxylates under REACh.
Ecos ND15 is a cobalt containing polymer. VELOX adds that alhough polymers are not subject to REACh registration, a hazard assessment of Ecos ND15 has been made. This is key to derive a hazard classification based on sound scientific data. The results show that Ecos ND15 is a non hazardous substance for all endpoints tested. Tests have shown that ECOS ND15 is a drop-in, one-to-one replacement for the whole range of typical UPR cobalt accelerators, both in structural resins and in gelcoats, says VELOX.
