Mitsui procures renewable natural gas (RNG) generated from municipal waste landfills in the form of biogas to produce bio-methanol, and Asahi Kasei reportedly plans to use it to make plastics in Japan with a lower carbon footprint than existing products.
US bio-methanol supply
Asahi Kasei Corporation and chemical company Mitsui & Co Ltd have put in place a supply and procurement scheme for bio-methanol produced in the United States.
