Unitech Composites awarded contract for Boeing AH-64D Apache Longbow parts

“Achieving qualification to Boeing Mesa specifications was a critical step in the process as a manufacturing supplier,” says Ben Busson, program engineer at Unitech. “We will manufacture our own tools for the Layup Mold (LM) and the Trim & Drill Fixture (TDF), in order to produce the uniquely shaped composite glare shields for the forward and aft cockpits in the Apache.”

The Boeing AH-64D is a four-blade, twin engine attack helicopter, primarily flown by the US. Army and several other nations. The Block III Apache upgrades include many composite parts in the interior and exterior of the aircraft.

Unitech operates within the Composites & Aerostructures Group of AGC Aerospace & Defense.
