UCSM prepregs are used extensively throughout aircraft structures in areas where high mechanical performance and fire resistance are paramount. Phenolic prepregs are typically used in passenger cabin interior wall and ceiling panels, partitions and flooring and modular fixtures such as lavatories, galleys, wardrobes and overhead luggage bins.
Epoxy, cyanate ester and BMI prepregs are used in applications where the highest mechanical performance is demanded, and where fire performance remains critical, such as in seat outer shells, ducting and cargo liners.
