The new version of TeXtreme® Spread Tow UD tapes will make the line suitable for more applications, the company suggests.
TeXtreme Spread Tow UD tapes can be tailored to meet specific needs such as thickness and can be significantly thinner than conventional carbon tapes. They have a uniform distribution of the fiber across the width of the tapes, which can improve mechanical performance. They are currently made up to 600mm.
By using the wide UD tapes in combination with the other products in the TeXtreme range when performing calculations and simulations, it can be possible to reduce weight, increase stiffness and strength, improve impact as well as dampening performance of composites parts.
