Shipment of new CF products

Boston Materials says that it has begun shipping carbon fiber products made with its new 60 inch wide roll-to-roll production line to companies in North America and Europe.

According to the company, the new manufacturing line increases the company’s production capacity of its Z-axis carbon fiber materials to over eight million square feet per year.

The first shipments include the company’s Supercomp 3D carbon fiber material that is designed to improve vibration damping, energy dissipation, and manufacturability of lightweight composite structures.

Boston Materials has also partially released its new ZRT thermoplastic composite films, also produced with the 60-inch-wide line, and made with 100% reclaimed carbon fiber.

The company says that it plans to install at least two more similar manufacturing lines over the next three years in its 37,000-ft2 manufacturing facility in Billerica, MA.
