SGL reports sale increase

SGL Carbon says that its sales increased by 14.8% to €853.9 million for the first nine months of 2022, compared to €743.5 million in the same period of 2021.

According to the company its graphite business contributed 44.8% to total sales. Carbon fiber also had an increase of+9.9%, composite solutions of 20.5% and process technology showed an increase of 24% in sales in the 2022 nine month period compared to 2021.

"We see growth opportunities in the semiconductor industry and here in particular in the area of silicon carbide-based high-performance chips, such as those needed for electric vehicles and the charging infrastructure,” said Dr Torsten Derr, CEO of SGL Carbon SE. “There is further potential in renewable energy and electromobility markets.”
