September’s top Reinforced Plastics news stories

An all-composite truck cab, hydrogen engines and a project to improve battery and fuel cell storage using thermoplastic composites were the most-read news stories on the Reinforced Plastics website in September.

1. All-composite truck cab improves efficiency

TPI Composites in the US has partnered with truck manufacturer Navistar Inc to develop an all-composite cab and trailer box, for the latter’s International SuperTruck II hybrid vehicle.

 

2. Delivery of hydrogen engines

ZeroAvia has signed an agreement to supply its ZA600 hydrogen-electric engines to Spanish-based Surcar Airlines.

 

3. Thermoplastic composite battery storage

Plastics research center Aimplas is taking part in a project to improve storage for batteries and fuel cells using thermoplastic composites. The Modalt project also includes Spanish company Zeleros, Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and ZIUR Composite Solutions.
