On its second visit to east coast of the USA, the SAMPE annual trade show attracted 40 new exhibiting companies. The conference programme included 250 presentations.
“We are very satisfied with the responses we have received from all of our participants: attendees, speakers, and exhibitors,” says SAMPE President Bill Avery, of Boeing Airplane Group, Seattle, Washington.
Three keynote presentations took place during the three-day conference:
- Partnerships to Meet Critical National Needs, by Marc Stanley, Director of the Technology Innovation Program at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST);
- Towards a US Clean Energy Future: Drivers and Opportunities, by Dr James Walker, President of the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) and a member of the Board of Directors of enXco, a US developer, owner and operator of wind energy projects; and
- Overview of US Navy Unmanned Combat Air System (UCAS), by Dale L. Moore, Chief Systems Engineer for the Navy Unmanned Combat Air System for the Naval Air Systems Command.
Conference topics included renewable energy, composite manufacturing innovations, liquid moulding processes, and multifunctional hybrids and composites.
SAMPE 2010 will take place in Seattle, Washington, on 17-20 May 2010.
