SAMPE 2011 attracts over 7000 delegates

SAMPE 2011 took place in Long Beach, California, on 23-26 May, organised by the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE). This year’s event was co-located with the ASM AeroMat 2011 Conference and Exhibits.

Returning to California for the first time since 2008, SAMPE 2011 attracted 106 new exhibiting companies, with 356 total exhibitors representing 555 companies. Alongside the exposition, over 250 technical presentations and eight tutorials were presented at the conference. In total 7121 delegates attended the conference and exhibition.

On Tuesday, conference delegates attended a keynote presentation on Understanding and Managing Risk in Human Space Flight Developments and Operations by Dr Mike Ryschkewitsch, Chief Engineer with NASA, while Wednesday’s keynote address by Andreas Wüllner’s focused on SGL Carbon Group – BMW: A Visionary Join Venture for Carbon Fiber Composites in Automotive Applications.

SAMPE 2012 will be held on 21-14 May 2012 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
