Carbon fiber provider DowAksa has appointed Anthony J Roberts as director of strategic planning. Roberts reportedly has many years of experience in the international carbon fiber composites business and has authored a series of global market reports, including ‘The Carbon Fibre Industry Worldwide 2011-2020: An Evaluation of Current Markets and Future Supply and Demand’. Plans are for Roberts to help develop and shape the strategic business plans of DowAksa, a 50/50 joint venture between The Dow Chemical Company and Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayii AS, headquartered in Turkey with associated operations in North America and Europe. ‘Tony is a welcomed addition to DowAksa's global carbon fiber composites team, and together with our general manager for North America, DJ DeLong, possesses deep and intimate knowledge of this industry based on decades of experience and deep understanding of all parts of our value chain,’ said DowAksa CEO Douglas G Parks. Tony will remain based in southern California, USA, and report to DeLong, who is located in Atlanta.
