Allan Curtis, director of glass fiber composite company Design and Display Structures, has been announced as Composite UK’s new construction sector group chair.

Curtis has more than 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, initially in high end curtain walling systems before transferring to glass reinforced polymer (GRP) cladding in 1994, Composites UK said.

‘I am delighted to receive this opportunity to work alongside industry colleagues to raise awareness of the wide range of benefits composites can offer to construction projects, end clients and the professionals working within it,’ said Curtis. ‘Attractive offsite modular solutions are key factors to successful fast track projects and the precise control one can exercise over manufacture in terms of minimising materials employed and volume of waste products puts us firmly at the forefront of shaping future building solutions and tackling sustainability concerns.’
