NCC launches composites training programme

The courses will be held at the NCC on a quarterly basis and are designed to suit entry level manufacturers, resin suppliers, compounders, composite moulders, sales representatives and other individuals interested in working with the material.

Understanding Composites, a 3-day training course, will be held on 11-15 July and 10-14 October 2011. It will provide a basic understanding of composites, combining classroom theory with instruction in hand lay-up and vacuum assisted resin transfer moulding (VARTM). Course capacity is 14 participants.

Composites Production Processing is a 4-day training course designed to introduce participants to processing with sheet moulding compound (SMC), long fibre thermoplastics, rapid fibre preforming and filament winding as well as hand lay-up and physical testing. The course is limited to seven participants and will be held on 18-22 July and 17-21 October.

High-End Processing is scheduled for 25-29 July and 24-28 October. The 4-day class will offer participants a better understanding of VARTM, autoclave and out-of-autoclave processing. The class is limited to 7 participants.
