Gurit exhibits at China Wind Power 2011

Gurit's structural core material product range now covers polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), balsa and styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) materials.

Gurit has been supplying carbon fibre spar manufacturing solutions since 2003. The company company's patented SparPreg™ material is said to provide the following benefits in spar manufacture:

  • fast material deposition rates;
  • single debulk vacuum processing;
  • 95°C curing and low exotherm;
  • very low void content and material wrinkling in thick sections (eg. 80 mm); and
  • wide range of industrial grade fibre choice.

Gurit acquired Suzhou Red Maple Wind, a Chinese manufacturer of moulds for the manufacture of wind turbine blades, in 2009. Red Maple's ISO 9001 certified facility employs over 600 skilled employees dedicated to the design and manufacture of high quality tooling.
