Granta Design has reportedly made improvements to its GRANTA MI Version 8.1 system for materials information management.

Following a new software update, users should be able to access data twice as fast. The update also improves scalability, adds new tools for easier administration of large numbers of users, and provides a more efficient way to merge new data into company databases.

The latest GRANTA MI software improvements can help speed up key tasks, including halving times to load a material property datasheet, shortening time taken to import typical large data set and allowing for faster automatic linking data of imported data to related information and faster deletion of obsolete data.

GRANTA MI is suitable for the aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, industrial equipment, and medical devices industries. Its creators say that it can help improve materials engineering and reliability when using materials data and allow for the avoidance of regulatory and other risks and better analysis and decisions in materials selection, simulation, and product design.

It is also possible to simplify and speed up database updates.
