Glass fiber company celebrates 20 years

Molded Fiber Glass Companies (MFG) says that it has had 20 years of operation in Gainesville, Texas, USA.

The Gainesville manufacturing plant opened in 1997 and was initially dedicated to producing blades for wind turbines. By 2008 the scale of turbine blades had outgrown the capacity of the facility and MFG relocated their blade production to a larger facility in South Dakota. MFG Texas still supports the wind energy industry with wind blade factory repair and reconditioning services and manufacturing of turbine composite parts and components used for lifting and transporting blades. The facility produces body panels for Class 8 trucks and parts for water treatment systems.

According to Matt Chambers, vice president and plant manager, the company currently employs 89 people at the 137,000 ft2 facility with plans to ramp up next year.
