Wind Energy Services Company (WES) partners with turbine component facilities

Wind Energy Services Company (WES), located in Gainesville, Texas, USA, will have co-located satellite service centres at MFG’s manufacturing plants in Gainesville, Texas; Adelanto, California; and Aberdeen, South Dakota.

These new service centres will be staffed with mobile service crews. Materials and equipment will be deployed from the regional location closest to a customer’s site, reducing costs and response time for field repair work.

WES reports that factory service is now available through the MFG service centres for blades and other composite components that require more extensive repair than can be effectively accomplished on-site. Replacement parts for older turbines can also be supplied.

“We have the ability to build a mould and composite parts quickly to match the original models, and are organised to accept jobs of all sizes at our Adelanto plant”, says Tony Drake, general manager of MFG West.

“We recently fulfilled an order for replacement nacelles, spinners and hatch covers for an older turbine that proved to be a tremendous value for the customer”.

“The Molded Fiber Glass Companies (MFG) is the largest North American manufacturer of composite wind components, and our ability to offer in-factory repairs will be boon for customers in these regions”, reports Gary Kanaby, director of sales.

“Particularly in the winter months when weather conditions can make up-tower repairs impossible, we can now move damaged blades or other components into the factory, make the repair, and have the equipment restored to productivity quite quickly.”
