German distributor for Polish resins

German chemicals company Biesterfeld Spezialchemie plans to distribute unsaturated polyester resins (UP resins) from Polish company LERG SA. Through this new agreement, the distributor is expanding its range for the manufacture of composite materials for the German market.

Marketed under the trade name Estromal, the UP resins are suitable for a wide range of applications in industries such as boat building, automotive, transport and wind energy. The portfolio comprises standard resins based on orthophthalic and terephthalic acid as well as a variety of resins derived from isophthalic acid/neopentyl glycol (ISO/NPG) and dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) for the manufacturing of composites.

‘LERG S.A. has 80 years' experience in the production of chemical raw materials and semi-finished products,’ said Mariola Szczech, sales director at LERG Company. ‘With its more than 110 years' distribution experience, Biesterfeld is a perfect partner for us.’
