Funding for colored carbon fiber

Hypetex, a UK-based manufacturer of coloured carbon fiber, has received £1.25 million in investment and appointed an equity expert as its new chairman.

Neil MacDougall has run a pan-European private equity fund for 15 years and chaired the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association from 2020 to 2021. He is a director of the UK Business Angels Association and a 24Haymarket investor.

Nick Rose, previously CFO of Diageo plc, chairman of Williams Grand Prix and board member at BAE Systems, has also been appointed as advisor.

Hypetex’s materials are sustainably colorized whilst maintaining their performance properties, the company said. Applications include consumer electronics, aerospace, yachting and lifestyle products to automotive design and Formula One.

The company plans to next expand its product range to include natural fiber and more lightweight materials.

“This investment will enable Hypetex to further build on its unique market position in this growing US$150 billion industry,” said MacDougall.
