Eastman introduces dual laser and blade cutting system

Eastman Machine Company’s engineering team has designed a dual configuration laser system equipped with a three-tool cutting head. This will minimise any associated switchover time between material cutting requirements.

The tool head features a 200 watt gas assist laser (100 watt optional) and three individually aligned and calibrated tool spindles that may be equipped with any combination of rotary and straight knife blades, notches or punches. The tool head is also equipped with a pneumatic pen/marker holder for labelling pieces.

Other new features include an industrial size fume extractor, an on-board chiller, touch screen operator control, linear rack and rail drive system, and a diagnostic control cabinet.

The new dual laser and blade cutting system from Eastman will offer all cutting capabilities of the company’s CNC static cutting table. The static table is a single to low-ply cutting system. A fully automated cutter plotter, it is capable of marking, drilling and punching virtually any flexible material at speeds of up to 60 inches per second (152.4 cm/s).

Other equipment available from Eastman includes:

  • conveyor cutting system – capable of cutting up to 60 inches per second (152.4 cm/s) with belt speeds of 11 inches per second (28 cm/s);
  • multi-ply cutting system – capable of cutting up to 5 cm (MPC-5000) and 7 cm (MPC-7000) of compressed material for high volume throughput; and
  • a variety of straight and round knifes, rotary shears and end cutters suitable for hundreds of materials.

Eastman Machine Company, headquartered in Buffalo, New York, USA, manufactures cutting machines, automated cutting systems, material handling equipment, and software solutions.
