DolphiCam included in Boeing 787 Dreamliner NDT manual

Boeing has incorporated a procedure for the DolphiCam CF08 ultrasound camera system in its NDT manual for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The procedure enables the use of DolphiCam for the field-testing of the Dreamliner’s carbon fibre fuselage structure.

"We are thrilled to have the DolphiCam included in the 787 NDT manual," said Dag Rønsen, CEO of DolphiTech. "With more than 120 Boeing 787s flying today, and over 1,000 on order this is a huge opportunity for us. And equally important – since our technology has been scrutinised and accepted by Boeing – it sends a loud and clear signal to aircraft manufacturers and MROs alike that DolphiCam can handle the toughest industry requirements, and all at an extremely competitive cost."

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a long-range, mid-size, wide-body, twin-engine jet airliner. It is Boeing’s most fuel-efficient airliner and the world's first major airliner to use composite materials as the primary material in the construction of its airframe. The NDT procedure will help inspectors to verify the integrity of carbon fibre structures in the airframe.

Utilising unique matrix transducer technology, the DolphiCam system is portable, user-friendly and provides crystal clear 2D and 3D images of internal structures in modern, lightweight materials.
