The modernisation project will enable CPIC Brasil to expand its production capacity up to 60%, and allow the production of new products.
CPIC Brasil Fibras de Vidro is located in the city of Capivari, in São Paulo state. It employs 350 people. The company claims to supply 40% of Brazil's fibreglass reinforcements market. It produces multi-end and single rovings, chopped strands and chopped strand mats and also imports a wide range of products from CPIC China.
The Brazilian company has been part of Chinese glass fibre producer CPIC since May 2011, when CPIC acquired Brazilian glass fibre producer OCV Capivari Fibras de Vidro from Owens Corning. (See Owens Corning sells Brazil glass reinforcements plant to CPIC.)
