419 exhibitors took part, an increase of 7% on 2012. (COMPOSITES EUROPE 2013 in Stuttgart attracted 9171 visitors and 406 exhibitors.)

The focus of the trade fair, lecture programme and concurrent AVK conference was on optimising processes that enable high-volume composites manufacturing.

Half (51%) of the visitors hailed from the automotive sector, followed by aerospace (28%), mechanical engineering, construction and wind energy.

45% of all COMPOSITES EUROPE visitors came from outside Germany.

A survey of trade fair visitors confirmed a generally positive view of the industry's prospects. When asked about the sector’s medium-term economic development perspectives over the next 4 years, 64% of visitors said they expect moderate to strong growth. A majority of visitors surveyed consider China and North America key additional growth markets outside of Europe.

New for 2015: Composites Germany conference

The new trade association Composites Germany will launch a conference alongside COMPOSITES EUROPE in 2015. This will replace the AVK conference which has served as COMPOSITES EUROPE’s kick-off event for nine years.

The conference will be designed for an international audience.

The next COMPOSITES EUROPE, the 10th in the series, will take place in Stuttgart on 22-24 September 2015.

COMPOSITES EUROPE is organised by Reed Exhibitions in cooperation with the European composites industry association EuCIA, as well as AVK, the VDMA Forum Composite Technology and Reinforced Plastics magazine.
