Composite researcher award

The Fibre Polymer Composites in Construction (FPCC) conference now includes an Early Career Researcher Competition, according to Composites UK.

The competition forms part of the show, taking place from 6–8 September 2022 in Bradford, UK.

It is intended to be a platform for early-stage researchers working within composites in construction to showcase their work and research students to discuss and exchange ideas.

Each successful applicant will receive an opportunity to present during a ‘Pecha Kucha’ style presentation session and a place to display a poster with details of their work for the duration of the event. The 1st place early career researcher will also receive an Amazon voucher to the value of £100.

The competition is aimed at structural engineers with less than five years full time, or equivalent, research experience who are enthusiastic about fiber-reinforced polymer composites in structural engineering and are ready to make their mark, Composites UK said. Delegates may be students registered for research degrees, employees of research organisations or those working in practice.
