Ashland launches new resin

Ashland has launched Derakane Signia, part of an existing resin line.

According to the company, the new formula has ‘an undeniable detection system to verify the integrity of designs’ of corrosion-resistant glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) pipes and tanks. It also has corrosion resistance, mechanical properties and improved processing.

Ashland says that the resin can improve manufacturing efficiencies and lower emissions due to its styrene suppressant technology. The resins are formulated to provide a no-prep surface, increased secondary bonding and reduced gassing for faster consolidation and less processing time and labor.

The new resin will reportedly be on show at JEC World.
