Accreditation for Solvay plant

Solvay’s polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) polymers plant located in Tavaux, France, has received IATF 16949:2016 accreditation for its quality management system.

According to the company, the accreditation covers the design and production of PVDF battery-related parts for the automotive industry. It is issued by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Group Limited (LRQA).

"IATF 16949 is the most widely used standard for quality management systems in the automotive industry, and we are proud we have received this certification," said Maurizio Gastaldi, director at Solvay.

The material is used in the production of lithium-ion batteries for hybrid and fully electric vehicles (EV).
