Alan Harper Composites has launched a new silicone dispenser used to make small reusable vacuum membranes for composite manufacture.

The MicroTop1.5 is available with 1.5 litre capacity cartridges in a variety of Shore hardness levels, allowing the user changeover to a variety of prepackaged silicones.

Membrane usage of over 200 cycles at temperatures up to 185C have been recorded, eliminating consumable waste and reducing bagging up times, Alan Harper Composites says.

According to the company, the dispenser makes it possible to build in local corner pressure intensification, helping reduce fiber bridging in internal corner profiles, a well known problem when using conventional single use thin bagging films.
