Monomer materials for adhesives

Chemicals company Lanxess has developed a range of monomer products for adhesives and sealants.

The Adiprene LF product range has been extended to include grades with less than 0.1% free methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) for adhesives and sealant applications. The  Adiprene LF urethane prepolymers can minimize any potential exposure to free isocyanate, a subject of increasing regulatory focus. Lanxess says that it is the only manufacturer offering LF urethane prepolymers with levels of free isocyanate below 0.1% across a wide range of chemistries, including MDI, IPDI, HDI, TDI, and pPDI.

The prepolymers also meet the latest regulatory standards for industrial hygiene and worker safety, according to D. Markus Eckert, head of urethane systems.
