Extruded glass fiber pipes

Italian plastic processing specialist Bausano says that it has opened extrusion production lines that can make glass fiber reinforced pipes.

The polypropylene random copolymer (PP-R) and polypropylene random copolymer with modified crystallinity and temperature resistance (PP-RCT) pipes can be used in the construction of hot and cold water distribution and water purification systems, heating systems and in the transport of compressed air and chemical fluids. According the company, the pipes have low thermal conductivity, temperature resistance from +20°C to + 95°C, and abrasion and chemical resistance.

"The combination of superior performance and lower raw material costs is leading to the increasing use of PP-R pipes, replacing less efficient metal pipes," said Massimiliano Fenili, Bausano technical manager.
