X-Ray Industries acquires composites NDT specialist

Arcadia Aerospace, based in Punta Gorda, Florida, USA, provides Nadcap certified inspection of composite airframe components, as well as inspection system consulting, design, upgrade, and integrated system manufacturing to the aerospace industry where its customers include Boeing and Honda.

X-Ray Industries is investing US$1.5 million in the Arcadia Aerospace facility, including new ultrasonic inspection systems that will triple its capability for carbon composite airframe component inspection.

“The increasing use of carbon fibre composites for aircraft components has created a demand for inspection systems that can quickly identify potential quality issues,” says Scott Thams, president and CEO of X-Ray Industries, Troy, Michigan, USA.

“The addition of Arcadia to our family of non-destructive and surface finishing technology companies helps to extend our expertise and tap into this growing market.”
