WAE names F1 specialist as brand ambassador

WAE Technologies, which makes lightweight composite structures for automotive, has appointed Claire Williams OBE as its new brand ambassador.

Williams was previously deputy team principal of the Williams F1 race team, which helped found WAE with the aim of developing new racing technology.

She is one of only two women to have ever managed teams in F1, the company said.

“Sustainability has always been at the core of the business, and for me personally, I am committed to maximising technology for the benefit of all to create a greener tomorrow,” said Williams.

“Claire’s experience in motorsport, combined with her understanding of the benefits of race-bred technology transfer make her very well placed to support our future plans,” said WAE CEO Craig Wilson. “[S]he will bring enormous value in raising the profile of our collective goal of making the world a greener place through the application of winning technology to decarbonise industry.”
