Teijin purchases land for carbon fiber site

Teijin Limited has acquired around 1.8 million m2 (about 440 acre) of commercial land in Greenwood, South Carolina, USA. The company plans to establish a US$600 million carbon fiber production site for automotive and aircraft applications on the acquired land around 2030, creating some 220 jobs in the process.

‘Through this investment, Teijin will accelerate its global expansion in integrated high-performance material businesses by utilizing its trilateral hubs in Japan, US and Europe,’ the company said in a press release.
