The price increase is effective 1 May 2011, or as contracts allow.
The products affected include methyl ethyl ketone peroxides, benzoyl peroxide, acetylacetone peroxide, and speciality blends.
Syrgis says that the prices for all products in these lines will increase 8-12% percent depending on formulation. The prices of elevated temperature initiators will increase by approximately 20%.
“We have experienced tremendous increases in costs and tightness in supply of many of our key raw materials,” explains Doug Hubbard, business manager for Syrgis Performance Initiators, North America. “Our manufacturing team has been able to implement process improvements to offset a portion of the increase, but not all.”
