This will be the first time SP-High Modulus exhibits within the Australasian market, following Gurit’s acquisition of the Auckland-headquarted High Modulus in December.

Exhibiting at the show on stand number 311 in Pavilion 3, SP-High Modulus – which supplies the superyacht market, high-performance custom, production and workboat sectors – will introduce its range of marine composite products.

This includes the B3 SmartPac solution, which comprises optimised structural design with pre-cut reinforcements and core materials, designed to reduce complexity and cost in production boat building.

Other products to be showcased are the new marine Corecell™ M-Foam, which, according to SP-High Modulus, is the only foam core to offer high shear strength, low weight and high elongation, low resin uptake for infusion processes and high-temperature stability for prepreg processes in one cost-effective offering.

The high-performance marine adhesive Spabond 540 will also be promoted as an ideal product for bonding large polyester and epoxy composite structures. It has been designed to bond stringers/bulkheads, frames and hull-to-deck joints on medium to large production boats.

“Under the new brand name of SP-High Modulus we are a world leader in the marine composites market and we relish the opportunity to showcase our extensive product range and our composites engineering expertise at the Auckland Boat Show,” says Graham Harvey, General Manager Marine at Gurit.
