Solvay to focus on lightweighting solutions at K 2016

Solvay plans to focus on its lightweighting materials, additive manufacturing technology and sustainability solutions at plastics show K 2016.

The company will also share its strategy, following the recent acquisition of Cytec’s composite materials, additive stabilization solutions and specialty chemical businesses.

At the show, Solvay will introduce two new Technyl products for the automotive market: a new series of heat performance polyamide 6.6 (PA6.6) for thermal management applications and a PA6.6 range with a specified and controlled halogen content for sensitive electrical and electronic applications.

Sandra McClelland, business manager for transportation at Solvay’s Specialty Polymers global business unit will present a paper on how advanced polymers are helping reduce CO2 emissions by lowering vehicle weight.
